Home Made Ranch Dressing

My wife has made this several times when we have been out of ranch dressing, and I like it better than store bought.  She normally halves the recipe because it makes so much.  Let me know what you think.

  • 2 cups Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp dried chives
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp dried dill weed
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Here is where we found the recipe.

I have been wanting to try to make my own ranch dressing for a while now but haven’t actually gotten around to trying it yet. Does this recipe make a thicker or thinner ranch? Also, this may be an odd question, but does this taste more like a dipping sauce ranch (for veggies) or an actual salad dressing ranch?

  2. I would call it thicker, dipping ranch. It can be thinned with milk if you are looking for more of a salad dressing. We obviously would use raw whole milk to cut it, but I am sure any milk would do. It is very tasty.

It sounds very tasty! I’ve been wanting to try my own mayo. I bet it would be awesome in this recip!
Thanks for sharing this on The HomeAcre Hop! Hope to see you back on Thursday 🙂
